Last week turned out to be a busy week for me. Mainly because of last Sunday when I opened my mouth to say "No" and it came out with "No but..."
After church, when we found out our minister would be away the next Sunday, the clerk of Session, Beth asked me if I'd do "Children's Time". Well I loved teaching Sunday School to the kids but don't like being in front of the congregation talking to the kids with all the adults listening in, I had a poor experience one time and this turned me off. Well, when she asked me I said "No...but I'll come up with something for the message". Where did this come from? It came from my mouth but not my head. I guess it really was God talking through me :) I had done the sermon a few times in the past and thought that's where it would remain...in the past. When I was working full time before I had plenty of notice and would work on it over a month in my spare time. Well this time I only had one week. This resulted in a lot of early morning writing all week before work. It's hard to believe...I'm not very long winded for sure...it took me 1 - 1/12 hours each morning and all I could come up with is a seven minute sermon. Our present minister is very long winded and it is usually 12:30 before we are through church. Yesterday we were out of there by 11:58 just two minutes short of noon. I had compliments on my sermon so I guess it wasn't too bad and people were happy to get out earlier on such a nice Sunday.

After lunch Paul left for an afternoon of golfing and I donned some my gardening clothes and other then the first "crop" of mosquitoes lunching on me I had a great afternoon relaxing my way by digging and pulling weeds and trimming bushes.  It was like a summer day finally.

In the evening we went over to our local Presbyterian church for a special service with most of the local churches participating. This is our second such service, the first was at our church and we'll be having these every month there is a fifth Sunday, rotating between all the churches involved. We had "the United Church of Canada" (mine), the Presbyterian, the Church of Christ in Murray River and another in Murray Harbour, the Baptist, and the Pentecostal. It was so hot in the old church with so many people! But by the time we were walking home the air was cool and chilly.

It must have rained quite a bit last night but I wasn't aware of it as I slept my first good night in a week and didn't hear it. We just had a short spell of hail a few minutes ago, it looked like someone sprinkled bits of Styrofoam on the deck.

One meeting this week and that is all I foresee other than work. My "baby", Megan, turns 25 on Wednesday, all my babies are now on there own and full fledged adults, sure make me wonder if I'm getting old though I don't feel old Open-mouthed

Happy Birthday Megan!

Hope everyone has a great week!
