8月28日 A day off, yeah!
Well this is my first day off in two weeks other than Sunday, yeah! As the last Tuesday I had off there is so much I want to do but since there are only so many hours in the day of course I'll either decide what to do with it or maybe just relax and let the day flow. I cleaned an cooked for "the boys" (72 & 77yrs!) in the morning then cleaned up my brother-in-laws after lunch. When I got home after having Freddie's house looking better than mine I made myself get right into the cleaning and had it done before supper. So the house is presentable...of course I could always find some clutter to clean or my dungeon but I'll leave that 'til I have more hours in the winter. So I'll play while the sunshine! The only responsibility today is to take my dad to the ferry. From the other side he will be taking a shuttle bus to his sister's in Cape Breton. I'm glad to do this as he has been talking about driving there for sometime. Though he is a healthy 88 year old I would rather he not drive that long distance anymore. One of my aunts many children and his family will bring him back home and staying for a few days. Sunday we finally got some nice weather and was able to have the Sunday School kids and friends to the beach for a one day VBS (Vacation Bible School). I had been planning to go there that afternoon since the tide was going to be very low to look for sea-glass but didn't plan to share it with over 20 kids. (It was supposed to be Saturday but it rained all day) We had a great time of games, crafts, song, food and of course swimming. As I said the tide was very low but that made it easier for us adults 'cause the kids wouldn't get in too deep. One craft was wrapping wire around a larger piece of sea-glass, a loop on the end then strung with a leather cord for a necklace. Sea-glass
8月21日 Tuesday![]() Just writing a short note to let you know all is well. I expected to be home today but I got a call yesterday to help bottle some white wine, "Little Sands White". It's great to get work but I sure enjoy a day home other than Sunday. At least I got the fridge cleaned before going to work in the morning and got my vacuum cleaning done after work.
Megan & I went looking for sea glass after supper. We had to leave when it got to dark to see anymore. I am also leaving early some mornings when I find the tide is low to pursue my new hobbie of combing for seaglass before work. It is relaxing just to listen to the gulls and waves slapping on the shore before beginning my day.
Last Tuesday Homer & I did go to the beach and had a great time in the water. Sunday morning was church and the afternoon was spent weeding my rock gardening. All the work I did on it at the beginning of the summer but with all the hot weather and rain we've had had found the weed seeds left behind and it was beginning to fill up again.
I was hoping to finish it today, blog, blog walk, clean the house and maybe get to the beach or begin a painting. Oh well, fall/winter will come soon enough and I won't have enough outside work. Feast or famine!
Please keep Curtis & Ellen in your prayers. I as thankful Curtis could take Milo, one of their cats to visit Ellen, it must have been nice to see a smile on her face. God bless you both.
Sorry I didn't get around to visit everyone. When I had insomnia there was so much more time to be on here but the up is I have been sleeping much better.
Hugs to all! 8月14日 Tuesday Well finally I have a day home! I have had an occasion day off but they were otherwise occupied. Last Tuesday I had a Dr. appointment in Montague and since we only have one car now I had to leave from there to go to Paul's appointment in Ch'town. By the time we did some running around with other chores it was bed time by the time we got home. Any other spare time I was trying to get caught up in housework and a few evenings we were out on Freddie's boat jigging for Mackerel or in the early morning before work I left early to beach comb.
One morning after a storm I found what I believe to be a moose jaw. Another day I found the other half! What is more surprising is that we don't have moose on the Island. Sometime they try swimming over or walking over on the ice in the winter. I have never known any to make it alive. So this may have been one of the unfortunate ones.
Today Paul and Megan are both away and I am home with the Car! So what am I going to do? There are any number of options...paint, go to the beach, clean house garden, blog...but there are just so many hours in the day and I am unsure of what I want to do. Hopefully I'll decide before the day slips away!
I haven't been online much...I check the news, facebook, weather etc. But mostly I am keeping tabs via Curtis on Ellen. She is in a facitlity now where she is getting the care she needs. They are both on my mind so much of everyday. They are both long term blogging buddies just as real to me as the people I meet each day.
Hopefully I make more time today to do some blog walking I am so far behind in but first I must get the house tidied up some. It's sunny so I may find Homer and we may get to the beach, this time I'll don my bathing suit incase I decide to go swimming. We did have a few weeks of very hot humid weather but now the air has a feeling of fall to it. Hope you are having a great day in your neck of blog land!
